Academic Experience (twice a week)
Students will listen to authentic university lectures and use notes from those lectures as a starting point for classroom discussions. Students will also increase awareness of cultural differences between the U.S. and Japan in order to prepare for their study abroad.
Academic Reading II (twice a week)
This course will focus on improving reading skills and increasing vocabulary related to academic content, and will build on skills and concepts introduced in Academic Reading I. Students will read from a variety of sources, including textbooks, novels, newspapers, and magazines. The course may also cover the reading section of the TOEFL iBT.
Academic Writing II (twice a week)
In this course, students will be introduced to the elements, mechanics and processes involved in writing a research paper. Students will be required to use and cite a variety of resources in their research.
